Overview

We are seeking a Software Engineer who will be responsible for the detailed design, implementation and testing of subsystems and system components for a U.S. Navy program to work onsite at Point Mugu Naval Air Station in Camarillo, CA.

Responsibilities
The Software Engineer shall develop software using C#, Visual Basic, or selected programming languages under Windows operating, mobile or Web/Services, and build data and test Mission Data Libraries (MDLs) in support of Navy systems
The Software Engineer shall provide software development support for the software application in accordance with government specifications, analyze requirements, produce preliminary and detail design as well as maintain and produce code and data for the application
Approximately 94% of performance is expected to take place at Point Mugu, CA at a Government facility and 5% at the contractor’s facility in Camarillo, CA.  The other 1% will take place at other Government installations
The Software Engineer may be required to perform local and non-local travel to support the tasking

Qualifications
Qualifications: Knowledge / Experience

This is a Journeyman level labor category that requires 3+ years of software development experience and a BA or BS degree.  A Journeyman level person typically performs all functional duties independently.
Experience working with C#, Visual Basic, or selected programming languages under Windows operating, mobile or Web/Services.
Strong understanding and practical experience with common design patterns.
Understanding of secure application programming practices and vulnerabilities.
Ability to write clear, concise documentation.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a similar field.
All degrees shall be obtained from an “accredited college or university” as recognized and approved by the U.S. Department of Education Database of Accredited Postsecondary Institutions and Programs as of award date.  This includes Associates, Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate degrees.

Clearance:
Condition of employment – The applicant must have and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Citizenship:
The applicant must have US citizenship at time of application.
